Thumbs up: to the City staff and our elected and appointed representatives who,
along with input from the public, have come up with changes to our City’s General
Plan’s housing element consistent with the state mandate and which is likely to
be certified.
Thumbs up: to our Public Works staff who does such a great job keeping our
trash cans empty in our beautiful parks. This is so important especially on busy
weekends in the summer months or in our true summer, the fall.
Thumbs up: for the great job Public Works did on the Davisidero– Higgins Park
project. And they finished on time too. The sidewalk improvements look just
great.
Thumbs up: to the people who have helped me get the paper on track. It is so
important to have news of our city out to the community.
Thumbs up: to City representatives who have created training a manual for
public officials.
Thumbs Up: To the fundraising efforts in connection with the Moongate project in the open space next to Chautauqua Hall.
They almost have sufficient funds to start through the construction planning process.

Thumbs down: to those who don’t take the time to read it or maybe they were
never given the information.
It is not a violation of the Brown Act for a representative to talk to a constituent:
that’s what they are supposed to do. There is nothing wrong with a member of
the public addressing his or her public comments to the public at large. One
chairperson at a recent meeting I attended, suggested that the comments must
be directed only to committee members. That is not the case .
Comments must be made on the agenda item when it is called and be about
that item. They can be directed to the general public and the governing board or
just to the public. And, general public comment at the start of a meeting can be
directed to members of the public at the meeting or to those watching on
television.
Thumbs down : to the low life who dropped this dilapidated old chair in our Rip
Van Winkle park for someone else to dispose of.
