All At Once

ree

by Evelynn Kahan

I’ve often thought of the many levels

which exist simultaneously.

Outside, on a glorious day like today,

Ocean and ant and me

Me and you

Me, you and the Sudans

Me, you the ant and ocean, the Sudans, outer space

The universe

All together

This moment.

Me loving you

You thinking of an oil change

The ant finding a crumb, how to carry it

The ocean’s plastics floating … Curious food for turtles

A telescope trained on Mars

Black holes

All at once.
