Earlier this month, the new owner, Dr. Aymen Adeeb, invited members of the public

to voice their opinions on what they wanted to see at the theater which is now under renovation, by writing on the outside walls, or expressing their wishes in a notebook.

Many people attended, and it was an enthusiastic and positive response by our

community.

I for one was sooooo happy that it was not going to be converted into yet another

mega-buck condominium complex, not at all serving our community. I expressed

my wish: for one screen to be allocated for foreign or art films, a la the former Osio

Theater, and I also signed the wall of the building to be “forever” part of the building.

The dynamic new owner not only intends movies, but also other events benefiting our

community.

The images of the proposed exterior paint are wonderful, navy blue with lighter trim,

and the whole theater is being upgraded. I grew up going to Saturday matinees every

week, and although I know I can stream movies, for me, nothing beats sitting in the dark

theater with the large screen and great popcorn.

Thank-you Dr. Adeeb for caring about our community; we support you!
